About this retreat

<aside> 📌 We are excited to announce that we will be hosting an in-person retreat for university group organisers in January! Travel, room, and board will all be covered by CEA.

Applications are open to all university group organisers! We expect most attendees to be UGAP and OSP participants, but we also have limited spots available for university group organisers who are not in our programs. The retreat will be most valuable for those who are really excited about EA, new to community building, and haven’t attended more than one inter-university university group organizer retreats or similar events.

What are the aims of this retreat?

<aside> 🎯 We think this retreat will have gone really well if the following aims are met:

Who can apply?

<aside> 👤 All university group organisers!

This retreat is primarily aimed at UGAP and OSP participants - we think they are most likely to fit the criteria of the people we would be especially excited to attend. However, we also highly recommend other university group organisers to apply - especially those who are really excited about EA, but who are relatively new to community building and have have attended fewer than two inter-university university group organizer retreats or similar events.

If you think going to the retreat would be plausibly valuable for you, please just apply! We will base acceptances on how much value we think you would get from the retreat. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept everyone who applies. In making hard decisions we may consider some factors outside of your application including recommendations from previous mentors (if applicable), the level of your university, and other information we have gathered on your group via our surveys.

Most attendees regularly report that retreats like these are significantly (ie: 3x-30x ) more valuable than the counterfactual use of their time.

Application (Apply here!)

<aside> ⏳ If you are interested in attending the retreat, we ask that you fill out this application form by 11:59 pm on Sunday, November 12th (AoE). You should hear back from us by November 27th.

We encourage you to apply even if you are not sure you will be able to attend. There will be a separate RSVP form sent to accepted applicants, so filling out the application is not committing to attend.

The OSP application form is shared with that of the Organiser Support Programme (OSP). We encourage you to apply for both!

If you are unsure of whether you would be a good fit or whether you should apply, please feel free to reach out to [email protected]
