Key info

• Dates: September 11th - October 15th, 2023
• Application deadline: August 27th
• Target Audience: Anyone who is considering pursuing a career in an EA cause area and who has an existing understanding of EA ideas.
• Content: Participants will complete an adapted version of 80,000 Hours' career planning template, and have weekly discussions with a facilitator and a group of peers interested in pursuing similar career paths.

We think we can help you to plan your career by providing structure, accountability and feedback during your career planning process. Through a combination of reading, exercises and discussions, you'll explore what a high-impact career looks like for you, and start making progress on next steps.

We highly recommend this program if you:

• Are interested in finding a career that is high-impact and a good fit for you.
• Have a good understanding of core ideas in effective altruism and/or have completed an Introductory EA Program or In-Depth EA Program.
• Can commit at least 1.5 hours a week to exercises and readings, and 1.5 hours to discussion sessions.

• This program is organised by EA Virtual Programs, part of the Centre for Effective Altruism.
• This program will run from September 11th to October 15th 2023, for 5 weeks and will consist of 1.5-hour facilitator-led group discussions with a cohort of 4-8 participants. We'll try to put people together in groups with other similar career goals so that you have more shared context.
• Before attending each session discussion, you’ll complete some brief readings about how to have a high-impact career and work through a set of written exercises to apply the ideas you’ve learned to your career planning.
• Before each session, you are expected to do 1.5 hours of preparation, consisting of readings and answering questions in a template.
