What does being a mentor involve?
- Regularly meeting with mentees from different EA groups
- Meet weekly with your mentees through our three-week mentorship programme (with the potential for semester-long mentorship).
- In Spring 2024, 65% of mentees received mentorship for the whole semester.
- Relaying important information to your mentees
- Occasionally, we might ask you to share opportunities or announcements with your mentees.
- Regular check-ins with CEA
- Check-in after your first and third week, and monthly after that.
- The check-ins allow you to discuss questions and problems with CEA staff, and help us keep up to date.
- Attending a one-off virtual mentorship training
- At the beginning of the programme, mentors participate in a kickoff event to learn the basics of OSP, how to mentor organisers, and meet other mentors.
What are the requirements for being a mentor?
- Experience organising an EA or cause-specific group.
- We might lift this requirement for applicants with equivalent relevant experience.
